A history of the Stardust Boutique dress in my wardrobe- Young European International Ms.
When I first entered pageants back in 2010, I had no clue where to find these amazing pageant gowns you would see, my prom dress was a bargain TK Max dress which was where my first pageant gown was to come from. It was £19.99, grey and silky and a little bit of sparkles on the bust. It wasn’t amazing but it did the job, I placed first runner up and took away the publicity award.
My next pageants I searched all through Ebay, wearing a Jane Norman for Miss Earth with a spilt in the leg which made me feel so Hollywood glam, and I was very lucky to borrow a Sheri Hill gown for Galaxy from a pageant girl who would later become one of my best pageant friends and it was red and covered in beads, my perfect pageant gown. This opened my eyes to what types of pageant gowns there could be, and also what made you feel like a true goddess on stage. This is where I stumbled by fate, to Kylie’s page. Back then this was before all the awards, the shops and the massive success of Stardust, when I bought my yellow sequined Primevera gown which was second hand.
The start of a wonderful relationship full of sequins and dresses, with some pizza and Disney thrown in. My first dress from Kylie was worn at Miss Spirit of True Beauty, where the night before myself and April Banbury stayed in Kylie’s spare room, full of pageant gowns (it gives you the best night sleep being surrounded by dresses!). I had a massive princess dress sponsored to me, but it was too big for the stage!! Lucky I had my yellow wonder with me! Sadly I did not place, but I got to wear the gown again the next weekend at Miss Swindon where I won the crown and my place into the Miss England Semi Finals!
By the year 2012 I had an array of sequined wonders from Kylie, from cocktail dresses where I handed over my title, fringe dresses which I used as my fashion wear in the most amazing green, and of course the sequined spilt leg gowns that were in fashion then with the pageant industry.
By 2014 I was an international finalist for a pageant so I had to up my pageant gown game! I had an amazing Jovani gown which will forever hold a special place in my heart, I wore this gown to host the Miss Swindon finals as I had to show the girls that I was still a winner years on!! From Jovani to Sheri Hill, with two blue gowns from Kylie which I won the FOTG North England after falling in love with this gown after modelling it for Stardust Diversity Shoot and my baby blue ballgown where I placed 7th internationally in Paris!
Kylie’s dresses have been seen all over the pageant world, from America to being used by the UK girls at their internationals. Even if you find yourself on the for sale sites for pageants, it is most likely that the dress was from Kylie first! From being awarded for her shop efforts, her dresses being awarded best in evening, as well as other fashion outfits, she is always there on the end of the laptop ready to find your next winning gown! Even steering you away from gowns that may not suit your frame or colouring, it’s not about just taking your money, but making sure you are going to win that crown. My last Stardust gown was my one of a kind green gown, with a beautiful train which was a first for me! Also that I was 5 months pregnant at the time of wearing it, and I won my first European title taking me to Texas so it was extra special to me!
Whether you are looking for your next pageant gown, appearance dresses for your upcoming pageant, prom dresses or even to just wear a Jovani masterpiece whilst lounging around watching movies, make sure you find your dress fairygodmother in Kylie today!
